Cambodia and Thailand have signed an agreement to allow foreigners to enter both countries on a single visa in order to spur Cambodian tourism and help the Cambodia economy according to the India Times.
1.7 million tourist visited Cambodia in 2006 so the new agreement with Thailand should help drive that number and add more foreign inflows to the Cambodian economy.
Should the agreement developed by the Ayeyawady-Chao Phya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) become a success, there are talks of expanding the idea to include Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam, which will also help the Cambodia economy with regard to tourism.

Of course this agreement will somehow be good for Cambodia. 25% to increase.

I find it hard to understand how this inter-Thailand/Cambodia visa deal works. Is Thailand willing to let her lucrative tourism industry( about 10 millions visitors annually) be shared with Cambodia for the benefit of Cambodia? Does this have anything to do with attempting to rack some benefits of Angkor Wat tourism on behalf of Thailand?
