After the announcement of a South Korean investment of $1.8 million to help Cambodia launch the Cambodia stock exchange [see: Cambodia Partners with South Korea to set up Cambodia Stock Exchange], the Cambodia parliament has officially passed a law that would allow the Cambodia stock exchange to open in 2009.
Despite Cambodia reliance in agriculture the drive the Cambodia economy, it is estimated that over 400 companies plan to list on the Cambodia stock exchange.
Other sectors that are playing a role in the development of the Cambodia economy include oil and gas, the garment industry, telecommunications, and construction.

The stock exchange law shall be made available on a website so that the public both local and foreign can easily have access to it.
