Alstom, a French firm, sees Cambodia foreign direct investment in trams as a solution to Phnom Penh’s traffic jams and air pollution according to Xinhua.

While no dollar figures were released to support the Cambodia foreign direct investment, Cambodia officials stated that the support Alstom and are interested in the outcome of the feasibility study that Alstom plan to produce.

Nonetheless, the Cambodia foreign direct investment by Alstom would connect the outskirts of Phnom Penh to downtown and the Phnom Penh International Airport and will likely create thousands of jobs for the Cambodia economy.
