The Cambodia government is seeking $3 billion in Cambodia foreign direct investment to built power plants to handle the future increase in Cambodia energy needs according to the Bangkok Post.

The Cambodia government has identified China and Vietnam as key contributors to Cambodia FDI for the project to build a number of hydropower plants with a combined capacity of 1,100 megawatts.

With the Cambodia economy slated as the fastest growing economy in Southeast Asia this year, continued interest in Cambodia foreign direct investment is likely to grow as well. The question is whether such Cambodia FDI will come primarily from the East or the Western nations.
