As China now looks to other nations to invest, Cambodia is seeing the benefits largely due to is past relationship with China according to EarthTimes.

With strong China Cambodia diplomatic ties dating back to the 1950’s, China made a decision to clear Cambodia of any outstanding loans considering the dire condition of Cambodia after the rule of the Khmer Rouge.

Currently, Cambodia is experiencing a dramatic increase in China investment in the following areas: garments, construction, mining and electricity.
