Italian-Thai Development, Electricity Generating, and Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding are looking at plans to invest in Cambodia to develop a new power plant according to Reuters.

Although there have been no concrete cost published surrounding the Cambodia investment, the plans suggest the development of a 3,660-megawatt coal-fired power plant that would supply electricity to Thailand as opposed to Cambodia.

The plant would be built in the coastal province of Koh Kong near the Thai border and begin construction in 2012 with production commencing in 2016.
