The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has announced that it will cancel $82 million in debt owed by the Cambodia government and the National Bank of Cambodia according to China View.
No specific reasons examples were given by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as to why such debt relieve was offered except that they encourage progress by such receiving countries as Cambodia
Likely, however, the move by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is in some part a reaction to the most recent arrests of former Khmer Rouge leaders. Through such debt relief, the greater global community is leading Cambodia towards greater governance of its economy in terms of reform.
